  about us

My name is Nicole MacAvelia and I established C.O.R.E Dance Project in August 2008.

I grew up taking dance lessons in the town of New Hamburg at Centre Stage Dance Studio Inc.  I loved training at a small town school which provided lots of interaction with the community.   It's my goal to provide dancers in Paris and surrounding areas with quality training in a fun, enthusiastic yet structured environment.  I want to provide my students with the proper foundation to become strong and healthy dancers.

I have completed my dance exams with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association in both Jazz and Tap.  My Ballet training is through the Russian Society of Ballet.  I have competed in numerous competitions throughout Canada and the US along with a National Championship from Tennessee.

I have been teaching dance for the past 12 years.  I have taught recreational and competitive level students at Attitudes in Dance in Kitchener as well as Centre Stage Dance Studio Inc. I have a strong passion for dance which I can't wait to share with you!  I am attending as many workshops as I can to stay on-top of the ever-changing world of dance.

Story Behind the Name
The body's core is essential to a dancer as everything stems from the core.  I have developed an  acronym for the things the studio will offer:

C                  Competition
O                  Overall Health
R                  Recreation
E                  Exams
Dance Project: It has become my project to bring a dance studio to the great town of Paris, ON.  You will not have to  travel far for quality instruction!!

Sincerely,

Nicole MacAvelia
