Primary Level Classes

Kinder Mini
Introduction to Jazz and Ballet
Ages 2.5-3.5

  • 30 minute class
  • This class is where it all begins
  • This class offers a basic introduction to both ballet and jazz
  • You will be amazed when you see your 3 year old skipping, marching and galloping across the floor
  • The dancers will learn lots of fun songs and all the actions that go along with them

Kinder Mighty
Continuation of Kinderdance Mini
Age 4

  • 45 minute class
  • This class is a continuation of the Mini program but also provides a great start for 4 year olds
  • Dancers will build on what they learned in the Mini program and add lots more
  • This class focuses strongly on the basics in both Jazz and Ballet

Tiny Tappers
Introduction to Tap
Age 4-5

  • 30 min introduction to tap
  • Dancers will learn all of their basic tap sounds, beats and rhythms
  • Tap is so great for kids to improve their musicality and coordination
  • Make music with your feet!!

Mini Tumble
Introduction to Acro (A fusion of Dance and Gymnastics)
Age 3-5

  • 60 min (every other Sunday) introduction to Acro
  • This is the solution for those students that can't decide between dance and gymnastics
  • This amazing class combines classical dance technique with precise acrobatic elements
  • A seamless blends dance and acrobatics and its use of acrobatics in a dance context
  • It is a popular dance style in amateur dancers as well as professional dance theater and contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil
  • This is in contrast to rhythmic  and artistic gymnastics which are sports that employ dance elements in a gymnastics context, with each being regulated by a governing gymnastics organization and Code of Points

Jazz
Ages 5 - Adult

  • Junior Levels:  45 minute class
  • Intermediate and Senior Levels:  60 minute class
  • Jump, turn, run and leap
  • This is a classic technical style mixed with a new age twist full of fun and energy
  • This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination
  • Exam classes will be available in 2012

Tap
Ages 6 - Adult

  • Junior Levels:  45 minute class
  • Intermediate and Senior Levels:  60 minute class
  • Tap is a very classic dance style and we have added a modern twist
  • All the classic steps and their history will be learned along lots of fun new elements
  • Tap is the best class to enhance co-ordination, rhythm  and musical understanding
  • This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination
  • Let's make some noise!!
  • Exam classes will be available in 2012

Ballet
Ages 6 - Adult

  • Junior Levels:  45 minute class
  • Intermediate and Senior Levels:  60 minute class
  • Ballet is the essential ingredient to every dancer
  • Primary and Junior levels will have many additional activities added in to enhance creative expression
  • This class develops posture, flexibility, placement and a better understanding of the body
  • This class consists of a warm-up, barre exercises, centre floor exercises and across the floor work
  • Exam classes will be available in 2012

Lyrical/Contemporary
Ages 9 - Adult

  • 60 minute class
  • This class provides a great escape for Intermediates and Seniors
  • Interpret the music, let your body tell the story and move freely
  • This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination

Hip Hop
Ages 6 - Adult

  • Junior Levels:  45 minute class
  • Intermediate and Senior Levels:  60 minute class
  • This class is full of energy, great music and great moves
  • Learn to dance like your favourite Pop Star
  • This class consists of a warm-up and combinations

Acro
Ages 6 - 18

  • Junior Levels:  1 hr and a 1/2 every other Sunday
  • Intermediate and Senior Levels:  2 hrs every other Sunday
  • This is the solution for those students that can't decide between dance and gymnastics
  • This amazing class combines classical dance technique with precise acrobatic elements
  • A seamless blends dance and acrobatics and its use of acrobatics in a dance context
  • It is a popular dance style in amateur dancers as well as professional dance theater and contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil
  • This is in contrast to rhythmic  and artistic gymnastics which are sports that employ dance elements in a gymnastics context, with each being regulated by a governing gymnastics organization and Code of Points
  • Acro is a challenging dance style as dancers are requires to be trained in both dance and acrobatic skills
  • Acro dancers must be in excellent physical condition as well, because acro is a physically demanding activity
  • It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography

Stretch and Strengthen
Ages 7 - Adult

  • 45 minute class
  • This is THE most important class no matter what style of dancer you are
  • This class allows you to understand, develop and strengthen your body in a HEALTHY way
  • Dancers are strong athletes that need specific exercises made just for them, this class offers those exercises
  • A healthy dancer is a happy dancer

Musical Theatre
Ages 7 - Adult

  • 45 minute class
  • This class is a blast for those that want to be the Triple Threat
  • Sing, Act and Dance
  • Each month we work on a different piece from a musical
  • Students learn how to dive into a character to play the part to the fullest

Overall Health and Wellness Classes
Ages 18+

  • Hard CORE Body Boot Camp

"Awesome Arms, Abs and Assets" and "Spin, Step and Stability ball Sculpt"
This class is very athletic in nature with simple choreography such as knees up, hamstring curls, mambos, V-step, grapevine and kickboxing moves. Classes with the stability ball can be dialled down for beginners or amped up for intermediate/advanced. The stability ball really helps work and strengthen the core. The instructor will alternate a cardio track with doing weights (things like bicep curls with a lunge or a pile squat with a triceps overhead extension).

  • Yoga

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony. The path of internal purification consists of eight spiritual practices which will be taught throughout the session. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. A challenging class where modifications will be offered and all fitness levels are welcome.
Breathless and mindful is a wonderful combination!

  • Pilates

"Every human being is the author of its own health or disease", by Hindu prince Gautama Siddharta.

 While Pilates training focuses on core strength, it trains the body as an integrated whole. Pilates workouts promote strength and balanced muscle development as well as flexibility and increased range of motion for the joints.  In middle age we often feel thicker throughout our midsection and we can control this by working the core, hips and glutes.  Pilates improves your mental and physical well-being, using controlled movements in the form of mat exercises to tone and strengthen the body with balanced development  through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement.  
Grow old gracefully?  You bet you can!

  • Yogalates

A gentle candlelight class focused on  releasing tension within the muscles while enhancing nerve function enabling the body to function in a balanced way. With the instruction focusing on the breathing, this will facilitate graceful controlled movements for strengthening and stretching while increasing flexibility, enhancing that streamline shape to sculpt and elongate your muscles without building bulk.
The Yogalates method develops the body uniformly. Corrects bad posture, lengthens and stretches the musculature, restores and increases physical vitality, stimulates the mind and elevates the spirit.
The best of both worlds awaits you in this class.

  • Zumba

Zumba is a dance fitness program. The program combines international, upbeat, amazing music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. You will learn so many dances to so many songs that an hour will go by and you will have no idea how the hour went so fast. If you want to have a blast, dance, work out and sweat this is the class for you!!
